Lance was born in Shawnee and grew up in the Oklahoma City area. While attending the
University of Oklahoma, he was involved in Campus Crusade for Christ, through which he met his future wife on a summer project. After they married, Lance and Jeni spent their first five years in Pensacola, Florida where Lance served as a yearbook and school portrait sales associate; and Jeni taught elementary school. After graduating from Dallas Theological Seminary in 2000, Lance pastored a church near Dallas, then served as a hospice chaplain in that same area.
In his spare time, Lance enjoys Sooner Football, writing, reading and Andy Griffith reruns.
