"Praise be to . . . the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God." |
Prayer Ministry![]()
The Prayer Ministry at Crossings Community Church offers abundant opportunities to serve God on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. Prayer involves a heart of compassion, love for your church, and a desire to serve God through intercessory prayer. You serve Him by serving His people in some of their most difficult moments. Here are five opportunities for service:
Sunday Prayer RoomTeams of two (couples or gender-specific pairs) pray during each worship service. They pray not only for the ongoing service, but also for every facet of ministry, as well as the needs of our church family. Time required is one Sunday per month, quarterly, or whenever you can give an hour either during the 9:30 a.m. or 11 a.m. service. (11 a.m. also prays for the 10:45 service)Saturday Prayer TeamJoin a group of prayer warriors every Saturday at 10 a.m. to walk and pray over every inch, seat and doorway of our church. The prayers are not only for the services on Sunday, but for all activities or special events throughout the week. It’s a very powerful time for our church and requires only one hour of your time.Altar TeamBe part of a compassionate team that prays for the family of Crossings Community Church at one of the most critical points of impact—at the altar. Pray with people during or after each service. Experience the power of prayer on your knees with those who need to be loved immediately. One Sunday a month on the Altar Team can make all the difference in the world to someone hurting and in need of an intercessor.Prayer ChainAre you willing to pray anytime but can’t make a time commitment to be at the church? Then maybe the Prayer Chain Team is for you. This very vital aspect of prayer is the frontline force that meets the immediate needs of the church family. You are placed on a team and when a need within the family of Crossings occurs you are called to pray immediately for the need and then to pass it on to the next person on the chain.Clinic prayerVolunteers are needed at the Crossings Clinic at Penn and Hefner to pray with people as they come in for clinic visits. Some of these folks have no connection with a church and the opportunity to share prayer with them is a powerful opportunity. The schedule varies.Contact Pam in the Congregational Care office at 302-1203 for more information about these prayer opportunities. |
