"Praise be to . . . the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God." |
Stephen MinistryCHRIST CARING FOR PEOPLE THROUGH PEOPLEOur congregation has many needs for care: people experiencing divorce, grief, terminal illness, loss of a job, relocation, an empty nest, retirement, hospitalization, loneliness, and many other stresses or challenges. Often people with needs suffer in silence; they do not request or receive the level of care they really need. With a congregation of 5000 members, you can quickly see why it is impossible for our pastors to meet every single need of every single person. Stephen Ministry expands the care Crossings can offer by equipping members to provide Christian care.As always, if you would like to discover how a Stephen Minister can walk with you through a time of need, call Pam the Congregational Care office at ext. 203. BECOME A STEPHEN MINISTER!Stephen Ministers are Crossings members who have gone through 50 hours of training to provide high-quality, Christian care to individuals experiencing a crisis or challenge (i.e. divorce, grief, loss of a job, hospitalization, relocation, loneliness, empty nest, etc.) New training session begin each August.TrainingStephen Ministry training consists of 50 hours of training on such topics as listening, boundaries in care giving, speaking the truth in love, depression, praying with hurting individuals, and more.
