Children (4 years - 4th grade)
"...children are a heritage of the Lord..." |
Parent/Child DedicationWhat is parent/child dedication?Parent/child dedication at Crossings is a commitment for parents. It is recognition of your solemn responsibility to raise your child in a Christian home and a church where he or she may come to know Jesus Christ as his or her personal Savior. The dedication provides you, as a parent, an opportunity to make this commitment public before God, your friends, and family. In this dedication, Crossings Community Church also commits to provide a loving, teaching community with fellowship, counseling, and prayer for your family.Child dedication at Crossings Community Church is not infant baptism. We do not offer baptism prior to a person's choosing to believe in Christ. How do I participate in a parent/child dedication? All parents interested in dedicating their children are asked to attend a one-hour parent/child class, held on Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. on the following dates:
Once parents have taken the class, they can have their child dedicated on any dedication services offered after the class they have taken. The dedication service dates are as follows:
What if I am unable to attend the dedication class? Can just one parent attend? The class is a required part of the dedication process for each parent desiring to dedicate his or her child. If you are unable to attend the class, please call the Nursery Ministry office and inquire about future parent/child dedication class dates. Can we attend the class before our baby is born? No, but you may schedule to attend one of the classes for after your child has been born. Can single parents dedicate their babies?Absolutely!Who should we invite to the dedication service? The parent/child dedication is a very special time, so be sure to invite your family and friends. There is no limit on the number of guests you may invite.Do I have to be a member of Crossing Community Church to dedicate my child? No. But because of the great importance of this dedication process, we require all participants to be followers of Christ and be active attendees in the life of Crossings Community Church. |
