Nursery Guidelines

Please include the following labeled items in your diaper bag:

  • 3-4 diapers
  • pre-mixed bottles
  • a pacifier (if applicable)
  • complete change of clothes

    Because of the number of children in our care, it is impossible for us to spoon feed a child while they are in the nursery.

    Pre-mixed bottles are acceptable. Graham cracker or saltine snacks are offered for children 12 months to three years, unless otherwise instructed.

    For safety reasons, parents and siblings are asked not to enter the nursery rooms.

    A staff member will receive your child at the door.

    Say good-bye quickly.

    Lingering with an anxious child prevents us from involving him/her in classroom activities. You will be paged if your child cannot be comforted.

    For the protection of all the children in the nursery, please do not bring your child if they show signs of the following:

  • Fever (must be fever free without medication for 24 hours)
  • Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea (free of vomiting and/or diarrhea for 24 hours)
  • Common cold – excessive cough
  • Any symptoms of childhood diseases, such as scarlet fever, measles, chicken pox, strep throat, flu, etc., or any infectious contagious disease
  • Chicken pox – all sores must be completely scabbed over and dry underneath
  • Heavy nasal discharge (green)
  • Any unexplained rash
  • Any skin infection – boils, ringworm, impetigo, thrush, hand-foot-mouth disease, fifth disease
  • Inflammation or discharge from eyes (all eye infections are contagious, must be on medication for 24 hours before returning)
  • Head lice
