Single Adult Ministries
All of our ministry opportunities in Single Adult Ministries are available through Sunday School classes. If someone expresses an interest in serving within Singles Ministry at Crossings Community Church, their first request will be to choose a Sunday School class, and attend for 8 weeks. Through that experience, you can better choose an area of ministry you’d like to try. Then, ask the class leader about First Serve opportunities in that area.
All of our classes have the following teams, or some slight variation, already in place. Each team has a designated leader for each class. They would love to have your help! Sorry, but we do not provide childcare for any of these service opportunities.
Care Team:
These volunteers are available to deliver meals when a class member is hospitalized, or provide for various needs when life gets tough.
Time Needed: varies widely, if a project presents itself, 2 – 4 hours to complete the task.
The Crew:
Calling all men to a ministry of the single adults at Crossings. We offer assistance to single women, especially single moms, who have small repair jobs to do around the house, but who lack the necessary skills, tools, or the money to hire a repairman. If you are a single man, and are willing to donate a couple hours once a month, and your skills, please contact Julie McPherson, ext. 209. Screening Form required.
Prayer Team:
People who believe in, and practice the power of prayer on behalf of their fellow class members.
Time Needed: varies as to the number of requests.
Welcome Team:
Volunteers who remember how awkward they felt the first time they visited the church love to be part of making others feel welcome.
Time Needed: Sunday mornings before and after Sunday School, and at various events.
Compassion Team:
This group of caring people seeks out and organizes work days and other mission efforts for the rest of the class. One arm of the Compassion Team is The CREW, a group of single men who volunteer to help single women (especially those moms) and single men who need minor repairs and odd jobs completed around their homes. Time Needed: varies widely, depending on project requests
First Contact Team:
If you have the gift of the gab, you may consider calling the first time visitors to your Sunday School class.
Time Needed: about 15 minutes per week, whenever it works for you
For questions on the Singles ministries, contact Julie McPherson, ext. 209.
