Celebrate Our Heritage

For the 14th straight year, Crossings Community Church honors the brave men and women of the armed forces and the American freedoms we enjoy through the music and drama of the Celebration of Freedom. This free, family-friendly event is held in two identical performances on Saturday, June 28 and Sunday, June 29 at 6 p.m.

Directed by Pastor of Worship Ministries, George Skramstad, this patriotic salute features the 175-member Voices of Crossings, the Festival Orchestra, drama, spectacular multimedia, soloists, Kid’s Praise choir, and audience participation.

Military personnel – both active duty and retired - and their families, are invited to sit in reserved sections marked by each branch of the service. These sections are located on the main level in the front of the Sanctuary.

Past attendee, Ben T. Robinson, USAF, Brig Gen (Retired), believes,

"This is the kind of event you would expect to attend in Washington DC. It is world-class. It allows former service members, those serving today, and members of our Oklahoma City community to celebrate together something that is near and dear to all of us...our freedom as a nation. Crossings Community Church is a fitting place to celebrate such an event as all veterans know that the oath we take to defend our freedom through defense of our Constitution ends with a short four word prayer...’so help me God.’ Anyone attending this celebration will leave proud of what our nation stands for, proud of the dedication and sacrifice of our military and with a renewed faith that God is watching over us."
Retired Navy Chief Petty Officer, M. A. Anderson, adds,
“The Celebration of Freedom makes me feel humble and honored to have been a part of the efforts to protect and maintain our rights to freedom.”
Bring your family and friends to this very special night of celebration. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Crossings Community Church is located at 14600 N. Portland Ave., Oklahoma City. For more information, call 755-2227.
