"Sixteen out of thirty-eight of Christ's parables deal with money; more is said in the New Testament about money than heaven and hell combined; five times more is said about money than prayer; and where there are five hundred plus verses on both prayer and faith, there are over two thousand verses dealing with money and possessions." –John MacArthur, Mastery of Materialism

    The Morning Meditation …

A kindergarten teacher told everyone to draw a picture of what was important to them. In the back of the room Johnny began to labor over his drawing. Everyone else finished and handed in their picture but he didn't. He was still drawing. The teacher graciously walked back and put her arm around Johnny's shoulder and said, "Johnny, what are you drawing?" He didn't look up; he just kept on working feverishly at his picture and said, "God." "But Johnny," she said gently, "no one knows what God looks like." He answered, "They will when I'm through."

Our lives become the picture through which others see the work of God in us. Our stewardship, our love, our grace, and our manner of living all reflect the God of the universe. What does our drawing exhibit to our family, friends, and community? "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving" [Colossians 3:23-24].
