U-Picked-It Sermon Series Survey
“Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise.” |
March 6, 2005 Sermon Notes
False guilt = false accusations from Satan concerning past
forgiven sins or other issues
How do we deal with guilt?
"So overflowing is His kindness toward us that He took away all our sins through the blood of His Son, by whom we are saved; and He has showered down upon us the richness of His grace -- for how well He understands us and knows what is best for us at all times." Ephesians 1:7-8 Living "You were dead in sins, and your sinful desires were not yet cut away. Then he gave you a share in the very life of Christ, for he forgave all your sins, and blotted out the charges proved against you, the list of his commandments which you had not obeyed. He took this list of sins and destroyed it by nailing it to Christ's cross. In this way God took away Satan's power to accuse you of sin, and God openly displayed to the whole world Christ's triumph at the cross where your sins were all taken away." Colossians 2:13-15 Living
That is why He warned people to "count the cost" before becoming Christians. "Make no mistake," He says, "if you let Me, I will make you perfect. The moment you put yourself in My hands, that is what you are in for. Nothing less, or other, than that. You have free will, and if you choose, you can push Me away. But if you do not push Me away, understand that I am going to see this job through." from The Joyful Christian by C.S. Lewis
