U-Picked-It Sermon Series Survey
“Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise.” |
May 18, 2008 Sermon NotesPastor
Matt Anderson – May 18, 2008
(10:45) “Let me tell you why you are here …” – Matthew 5:13 I am the SALT of the EARTH. -
I am VALUABLE. -
I am here to PRESERVE LIFE. -
I am here to MAKE LIFE TASTE BETTER. A morning thought… God has given certain creatures amazing
capabilities. The chameleon, for example, shows uncanny accuracy in nabbing
bugs with its tongue. Scientists have recently found out why: chameleons have
telephoto eyes. According to Matthias Ott
and Frank Schaeffel of the University of Eye Hospital in The Apostle Paul says, “I ask—ask the
God of our Master, Jesus Christ, the God of glory—to make you intelligent and
discerning in knowing Him personally, your eyes focused and clear, so that you
can see exactly what it is He is calling you to do, grasp the immensity of this
glorious way of life He has for Christians, oh, the utter extravagance of His
work in us who trust Him – endless energy, boundless strength!” (Ephesians
1:17-19a, The Message). May our vision for today, with
bright hope for tomorrow, lead us into the future God has prepared for us. —George R. Skramstad, 2008 |
