Meets at Crossings Community Center
(2208 W. Hefner Road) on Thursday evenings

What it is
This Christ-centered program is led by trained individuals who help participants heal from the hurts, habits and hang-ups in their lives, using the eight biblical principles found in the Beatitudes (from Matthew 5) and the traditional 12 Steps.

How it works
The application of the Beatitudes and 12 Steps helps free participants from addictive, compulsive and dysfunctional behaviors, while developing them spiritually. CR provides an opportunity to deal with the challenges of both the past and present.

Who it’s for
Celebrate Recovery is for addicts, adult survivors, co-dependents and individuals struggling with disorders.
Celebrate Recovery Schedule
When it meets
Thursdays from 5:45-8:30 p.m.

Frequently asked questions

What exactly are hurts, habits and hang-ups?
All of us face obstacles in our lives that we have had a hard time overcoming. In CR, we call these issues hurts, habits and hang-ups. These can range from control issues, anger, depression, family dynamics, abusive relationships and addictions. Oftentimes, we are in denial and neglect to seek the help we need to heal from these challenges.

Can anyone come to CR?
Anyone and everyone over 18 is welcome to come to CR to experience the healing that takes place in a Christ-centered environment. We believe there are no individuals that walk this earth who have not dealt with some type of hurt, habit, or hang-up.

LifeTools for Kids (ages, 4 years-6th grade) and Nursery (ages, up to 4 years) are also available.

What about confidentiality? Isn’t that typical for 12 Step programs?
The beauty of CR is that it allows us to be open, transparent and thankful that Christ has forgiven our past and loves us as we are. Leaders and participants join together to create a safe environment where no one feels judged no matter what they have dealt with in their lives. As in all 12 Step programs, anonymity and confidentiality are of utmost importance.

What should I expect when attending a night of CR?
An evening at CR begins with dinner and fellowship. This provides an opportunity for connecting and building community before the worship service begins. The CR service includes: praise and worship, teaching and personal testimonies from those who have experienced healing through CR. After the service, we break into small groups that are both topic and gender specific. Groups are based on the specific hurts, habits and hang-ups that individuals are facing. The evening concludes with coffee and desserts.

If I am already in a 12 Step program, would CR be beneficial?
Absolutely! CR can be complementary to any other 12 Step program. One difference you might find at CR is that we focus solely on Jesus Christ as the higher power and the healer of all hurts, habits and hang-ups.

CR Celebrates One Year Anniversary
CR Celebrates One Year Anniversary

On Thursday, November 5, 2009, Celebrate Recovery (CR) celebrated its one-year anniversary. With over 100 people present, testimonies were shared of lives that have been transformed through CR. Josh Edington, Brad McPherson, Jeff Wilder, and Aaron Woolsey led the group in a time of inspiring worship as encouragement was offered to those seeking the life change that God provides. One leader stated,

“Wow, we are so blessed to be a part of God’s handy work with CR. Seeing is truly believing as these individuals turn over their hearts to a loving and forgiving God. Restoration is a beautiful thing to witness.”

Many thanks to the faithful leaders of CR who have made this last year of ministry possible. Those serving on the CR leadership team have committed multiple hours weekly. Also, many thanks to those who have volunteered their time in Celebration Station, the brand new children’s ministry component of CR, to the kitchen staff, greeters, ushers, and worship/tech teams that make Thursday nights possible. We look forward to another amazing year of seeing lives transformed through CR.
